Gemstone Paintings

Gemstone painting is a unique art form developed in Jaipur - the "Pink City" - of Rajasthan. These paintings differ from others due to their use of gemstones as color, without using any synthetic or artificial colors. The designs are created on glass using crushed precious and semi-precious stones and finally pasted by skilled craftsmen on the back side of an acrylic glass sheet. This process is performed entirely by hand without using any machinery.

Apart from their high aesthetic value, these works are more durable, as they do not lose their luster over time. They make terrific gifts for any age group.

Glass (Framed)

Three varieties of gemstone paintings, framed behind glass:

Ragini - generally described as a young, beautiful lady who is missing her lover and, by staying in the company of nature, is trying to distract her mind from the pain of separation. These paintings beautifully depict the mood of the young lady.

Traditional Lady - presented in various situations, such as playing with a deer, playing a musical instrument, admiring her beauty in a mirror, standing under a tree, doing chores on the farm, etc.

Animals - cows, horses, elephants, peacocks, and sparrows. These are some of the most popular items in our store.

Marble (Framed)

Rajasthan, India is famous for its marble. The artisans in Rajasthan use marble as a painting medium to showcase traditional as well as contemporary styles. The royal city of Jaipur takes great pride in having introduced this art form to the world. First, the design is drawn on the marble and embossed. Then, pure gold leaf is affixed. Next, the designs are embellished with enameled colors and with colored semi-precious stones. Finally, the entire piece is lacquered.

Marble Plates

Using the combination of miniature paintings with gold leaf embossed work and semi-precious stones, our artists have created magic on marble plates. These paintings are truly breathtaking and are very popular. Each plate is six inches in diameter and comes with its own velvet storage box.

Miniatures (Paper)

In this series, we have miniature animal paintings - horses, camels, and royal elephants - on paper with gold embossing. These are unique pieces of art that may be framed however you wish. The display of rich colors will surely add beauty to your house or office.
