Marble (Framed)

Rajasthan, India is famous for its marble. The artisans in Rajasthan use marble as a painting medium to showcase traditional as well as contemporary styles. The royal city of Jaipur takes great pride in having introduced this art form to the world. First, the design is drawn on the marble and embossed. Then, pure gold leaf is affixed. Next, the designs are embellished with enameled colors and with colored semi-precious stones. Finally, the entire piece is lacquered.

Rajasthan is famous for traditional jewelry, which is renowned for its beautifully intricate design and patterns. The people of Rajasthan are known as Rajputs (warriors). Rajasthan was once ruled by various kings, and a variety of weapons were used by the Rajput warriors.
